The Republic of Adygea is not very large and is completely surrounded by the Krasnodar Territory. But this small area concentrates a huge number of attractions. Here you can see Alpine meadows with herds of grazing horses, cows and sheep, cascades of waterfalls on a picturesque mountain river, carved granite canyons, caves and the amazing beauty of the Lagonaki plateau. And all this is within walking distance from the picturesque villages drowned in blooming apple and apricot orchards in spring, villages, where gray-bearded elders live the same way as their ancestors a couple of centuries ago.
Women continue family traditions and make delicious cheese which definitely worth coming here. In General, the cultural component of Adygean people is very rich and traveling to Adygea you can’t miss folk dances and songs. By the way, the sites of prehistoric people from the Paleolithic and Mesolithic times, dolmens and mounds are also in abundance.
I want to tell you how we develop routes and prepare every trip for you. Lots of our tours suit well for traveling with children, so when we develop a route, we want both children and adults to be satisfied with a program. But how, do you think, we can check it?
Before creating the final route, we test it with our family and friends.
At the end of April, 2017, my son turned 5 months old and it was decided that we could already go on a road trip. We were going to explore a route in the Russian Caucasus, including Adygea, so we chose this direction. Our grandparents agreed to join us. They are travel experts and have traveled all over the world, so they could tell us their opinion about the route for people of their age. We also invited our friends with us.
From Moscow to Adygeya by modern UAZ Patriot
Our route started from Moscow, and we got safely to Adygea behind the wheel of two modern UAZ Patriots. We stayed at a comfortable hotel and made our trips from it. Our program included not only automobile sections, although some of them were a real off-road adventure, but also hiking along canyons and forest trails. These simple trips are suitable for everyone. Our daughter at that time was only 8 years old and she really enjoyed those trips, especially when she had the opportunity to swim in the waterfall
The main Hiking route follows the cascade of Rufabgo waterfalls (Rufabgo is a tributary of the Belaya River).
At that point, it flows through a deep mountain gorge, which is considered a real geological monument, since it composes of different in time and density rocks. Crossing them, the river narrows and widens, forming a dozen picturesque waterfalls on its way.
Most beautiful places of Adygeya
So within three days in Adygea, we explored its most beautiful corners:
- Visited caves
- Climbed to the plateau
- Touched the snow
- Found real Ammonites (ancient fossilized shells) on the Belaya river Explored dolmens
- Bathed in hot springs
- Enjoyed the most delicious Adygean cuisine
Adygeya is definitely a place to visit.
