Enjoy an evening flight to Murmansk. Upon arrival, our team will warmly welcome you at the airport where your vehicles will be ready. From there, you will be transferred to a centrally located hotel in Murmansk.
After check-in and dinner at the hotel restaurant, take the evening to relax and recharge, preparing for the exciting journey to the far north of our vast country, which begins the following morning.
Day 2. Murmansk – Sredny Peninsula ~136 km
After breakfast, we’ll transfer to the Whale Coast, located by the Malaya Volokovaya Bay of the Barents Sea. Following hotel check-in and lunch, get ready to experience Ice Floating—a unique relaxation practice originating in the USA in the mid-20th century. Traditionally, floating involves relaxing in a capsule filled with warm salty water, giving a sensation of weightlessness that promotes mental clarity, relieves fatigue, eases pain, and balances emotions.
This concept evolved in Scandinavia into ice floating: floating effortlessly for 15–40 minutes in icy sea water wearing a special wetsuit that provides buoyancy. No swimming skills are required, and you simply lie back and relax, fully surrounded by the serene, icy waters. The only sound breaking the peacefulness is the gentle crackling of ice.
After your refreshing ice floating experience in the Barents Sea, unwind further in a traditional Russian bathhouse featuring a steam room, hammam, hay room, plunge pool, and a heated swimming pool — perfect for cooling down after a hot steam. For complete recovery, a massage room is also available to restore body and mind.
Day 3. Whale Coast ~ 0 km
Today you will spend the entire day at the edge of the world.
In the morning, after breakfast, embark on an exciting snowmobile safari to the Musta-Tunturi Pass, offering breathtaking Arctic landscapes and thrilling winter adventure.
After lunch and some rest, experience an unforgettable encounter with authentic Sámi shamans. These spiritual leaders perform mesmerizing rituals to cleanse and prepare for the transition from the old year to the new.
You will be immersed in ancient melodies, magical dances, and northern legends rich with sacred meaning, creating a profound sense of renewal and connection with the Arctic’s mystical heritage.
Day 4. Whale Coast – Murmansk – Lapland Village ~ 180 km
Today we say goodbye to the rugged but welcoming Sredny Peninsula. Our journey begins with a visit to the capital of the Russian Arctic and after lunch, enjoy an exclusive tour of the world’s first nuclear-powered icebreaker, «Lenin».
The Lenin icebreaker is a unique cultural heritage monument of federal significance, built between 1956 and 1959 at the Admiralty Shipyard in Leningrad. Over 500 Soviet enterprises contributed to its construction. Commissioned on December 3, 1959, it played a pioneering role in Arctic navigation.
For 30 years, Lenin ensured safe passage along the Northern Sea Route, acting as an “atomic university” for developing year-round Arctic shipping technologies and training crews. It escorted thousands of ships through Arctic ice, covering an astounding 654,400 nautical miles—more than three times the distance from Earth to the Moon! The icebreaker was decommissioned in 1989.
On May 5, 2009, Lenin was moored at Murmansk’s central marine terminal, quickly becoming a symbol of the Murmansk region.
Following the excursion, a short transfer will bring you to a Lapland village where the chef of the restaurant will lead a masterclass on cooking traditional northern dishes.
Day 5. Lapland Village – Teriberka – Lapland Village ~ 282 km
Today we embark on an unforgettable journey to Teriberka, a historic settlement with over 600 years of heritage. Nestled on the banks of the Teriberka River, which flows into the Barents Sea through a narrow bay, this village offers a unique glimpse into Arctic life. The name “Teriberka” comes from the old Novgorod term “Tery,” the historic name for the Kola Peninsula.
Originally founded by Pomor fishermen, Russian settlers arrived here only in the 19th century. In the decade before the revolution, Teriberka thrived: the village expanded, a church and a weather station were built, and both fishing and whaling were prominent activities. The 1920s brought the first collective farm, diversifying into meat and dairy farming alongside fishing. Teriberka grew into a regional center, attracting people from nearby villages.
Its golden era was the post-war period, with two fish-processing plants, dairy farms, a poultry farm, and a ship repair workshop. The village also expanded with stadiums, clubs, schools, and boarding houses. However, decline began in the 1960s when administrative functions were transferred to Severomorsk. With the rise of ocean fishing and the inability of large vessels to enter the bay, fish-processing factories closed one after another, followed by other local enterprises. The "Muromets" collective farm was disbanded, schools and boarding houses relocated, and the population decreased.
Teriberka gained international attention in 2014 through director Andrey Zvyagintsev’s film “Leviathan”, portraying the life of Nikolai, an auto mechanic living by a small bay occasionally visited by whales. This exposure magnetized visitors eager to experience the bleak charm of the village and its stunning Arctic landscapes firsthand.
Gradually, Teriberka is being revitalized with new roads, hotels, and tourist facilities emerging to welcome guests.
After lunch at the hotel restaurant, we will visit Teriberka Nature Park to admire the magnificent Batareysky Waterfall, about 20 meters high. In summer, its roaring water cascades into the Barents Sea, while in winter it transforms into colossal ice stalactites.
We will also explore the fascinating “Dinosaur Eggs” beach - a striking coastal stretch littered with perfectly rounded boulders resembling fossilized dragon eggs, a true natural wonder.
Day 6. Lapland Village – Kirovsk ~ 207 km
Today we travel to the Khibiny Mountains, the largest mountain range on the Kola Peninsula in Murmansk Oblast and one of the highest ranges beyond the Arctic Circle in Russia. The highest peak, Mount Yudychvumchorr, rises to 1200 meters above sea level. On our way to Kirovsk, we will visit the Lapland State Nature Biosphere Reserve, where you can take a peaceful walk along snow-covered wooden trails surrounded by pristine Arctic wilderness.
In the evening, we invite you to explore the art park “Mysterious Forest,” featuring a variety of themed sculptures and exhibits beautifully illuminated with colorful lighting—an unforgettable experience blending nature and creativity.
After visiting the “Mysterious Forest,” we will take a cable car funicular up to the panoramic restaurant “Plateau,” perched on top of Mount Bolshoy Vudjavr. Here, enjoy exquisite dishes of northern cuisine.
Day 7. Kirovsk – Snow Village – Kirovsk – Moscow ~ 50 km
After breakfast, we will head out for a captivating excursion to the famous “Snow Village”. This unique attraction is a magical town crafted entirely from snow, ice, and light. Every year, now celebrating its 18th season, the Snow Village features new themes and exhibits. The best ice sculptors from across Russia gather here annually to create breathtaking works of art. You will have a rare opportunity to admire these stunning ice and snow sculptures up close.
Following lunch, we will transfer you to the Apatity Airport as our unforgettable winter journey through the Arctic is coming to an end. But many more adventures and exciting routes await you in the future!
