Day 1. Moscow – Grozny
Meet and greet at Grozny airport, transfer to the hotel, located right in the middle of the capital of the Chechen Republic. On the way to the hotel, you will see how Grozny has changed over the past 10 years. Modern avenues, magnificent mosques and a sea of lights will greet you in hospitable Grozny. After checking into the hotel and a nice dinner, you can rest and gain strength before our journey.
Day 2. Grozny – Mountain Saniba (230 km)
Grozny – Mountain Saniba
We will drive along the roads of two regions, the Chechen and Ingush Republics. Along the road, which one of the locals restored with his bulldozer, we will cross a mountain pass on the top of which there is a rock called the Stone Arch. You will see the amazing rock formations, known by the locals as the "Petrified Army". We will also drive up to the famous watchtower complexes maintained by local clans for hundreds of years.
Our hotel for the night is located on the edge of the Karmadon Gorge, next to the Kolka glacier that melted 23 years ago.
Day 3. Mountain Saniba - Blue Lakes (325 km)
Throughout today's route, we come across observation platforms with views of the most beautiful landscapes of the Main Caucasian Range. At each of these observation platforms, you will want to stop to take photos and simply enjoy the views. We will drive through the Republic of North Ossetia and by evening we will reach the neighboring republic - Kabardino-Balkaria, where we stay overnight on the shore of a mountain lake.
Day 4. Blue Lakes - Terskol (170 km)
Several dirt passes are on the agenda for today. The highest of them is located at an altitude of over 3,200 meters above sea level. Despite the fact that the length of today's route is not great, we will spend the whole day on the road, since several challenging patches await us.
We will spend the night at a ski resort at the foot of Mount Elbrus.
Day 5. Terskol - Kislovodsk (185 km)
After breakfast, we head to Kislovodsk. This resort is famous for its healing springs. The water of each spring is unique and contains a number of chemical elements that help to treat many different diseases. Just like the previous day, this route contains a dirt section leading to Dzhily-Su mineral springs, where we also view beautiful waterfalls.
The way from the Dzhily-Su springs to Kislovodsk is considered one of the most magnificent roads in the Caucasus. Throughout the entire day, we will be accompanied by the views of the gorgeous Elbrus, which will not leave you indifferent.
Day 6. Kislovodsk – Dombay (185 km)
Today’s route crosses two neighboring republics: Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia. Along the way, we visit the cascade of Honey Waterfalls. We get up all the way to the cliffs of the Bermamyt plateau, drive along the old royal mountain road, where we pass a picturesque place called the “Royal Gate”, or “Wolf Gate” in some sources.
An abundance of dirt sections is also in store for today. As we are quite far from paved roads and tourist trails, you will be able to enjoy natural views unobstructed.
We stop for the night at another ski resort in the village of Dombay, which is located at an altitude of 1650 meters above sea level. Despite the altitude, it’s surrounded by a coniferous forest.
Day 7. Dombay - Arkhyz (185 km)
We continue our journey through Karachay-Cherkessia and our route will take us to another ski resort of this region, the Arkhyz. We will have the opportunity to visit a stalactite cave, we will stop by the Baranakha plateau. This massif is part of the Rocky Range, stretching from the Azov Sea to the Caspian Sea.
Day 8. Arkhyz - Maykop (260 km)
Today, we leave hospitable Karachay-Cherkessia with its high mountain peaks and mountain plateaus, and enter Adygea, famous for its cheeses, thermal springs and natural parks. The route will mainly consist of tarmac roads, but will also includes small dirt sections.
Day 9. Maikop - Tuapse (260 km)
On this day, a beautiful cave called "Bolshaya Azishskaya" awaits you. We will visit it on the way to the Lagonaki Plateau Nature Park, famous for its endless alpine meadows, crystal clear mountain rivers and stunning views.
Later in the day, the gentle Black Sea meets us! You will have the opportunity to take a swim if you wish, when we arrive at our hotel in the evening.
Day 10. Tuapse - Sochi (125 km)
This will be the final day of our drive! From Tuapse, we will head to the city of Sochi, the most renowned seaside resort in Russia, the city that hosted the Winter Olympics in 2014.
After we check into the hotel for the night, you will have the opportunity to relax, walk along the seashore and enjoy the city of Sochi.
Day 11. Sochi
After breakfast, you will be taken to the Sochi airport for your flight.
