Crossing the border

First of all, you must cross the border of the Russian Federation legally: by any means of transport or on foot, but be sure to - at the checkpoint across the border.

At the border you must show:

1. Valid identity document.

It can be a general passport, official passport, sailor's passport.

Remember the validity of your passport. If this period expires, you will not be allowed to go back from Russia through the border, even if you were only late for the trip. You will be able to leave only when you extend the validity of the document, or receive a certificate of return to your homeland at your consulate or embassy.
